Here’s What It Means and How We Stop It
H. 4757 puts LGBTQ+ youth in danger by forcing outings, censoring schools, and ending confidential care. This bill would require educators to disclose sensitive information to parents, discourage inclusive education, threaten student support groups, and eliminate access to confidential healthcare for minors. For many LGBTQ+ youth, these changes increase the risk of harm, isolation, and mental health crises.
South Carolina schools should be places of safety, trust, and support, not fear and surveillance.

Promoting Equity, Living Proudly

November 20, 2025
Transgender Day of Remembrance
Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the transgender and gender-nonconforming lives taken by anti-trans violence. We remember their names, their stories, and their light — and we recommit to protecting the living.
TDOR is a solemn reminder that visibility often comes at a cost. Transgender people, especially Black and Brown trans women, continue to face disproportionate violence, discrimination, and erasure. But today is also a call to action: to stand together, to speak truth, and to build a South Carolina where every trans person can live openly, safely, and authentically.
